Sleeping is a natural periodic state of rest for the mind and body. So,
William Shakespeare called it as a death’s counterfeit. Besides, it is a basic
necessity of life, as important as air, food and water. But, Thomas Edison
claimed that sleeping is a waste of time. According to Dayton Department of
Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wright State University School of Medicine and
the Sleep-Wake Disorders Research Institute, each one of us has a unique sleep
requirement, for instance, new
born (15 - 20 hours), children (10 - 15 hours), adults (6 - 9 hours) and old
age (5 - 6 hours). Except for the people, animals also have a unique sleep
requirement such as bats (approximately 20 hours), cats (about 15 hours),
rabbit (about 9 hours) and horse (3 hours) a day. There are five interesting
and unknown basic parts of sleeping such as sleeping positions, sleeping
behaviors, sleeping types, sleeping disorders and sleeping facts.

SAMPLE ESSAY "ADS"
People often think that “Any publicity is good publicity.” The earliest use of
this expression is from the US newspaper The Atlanta Constitution by Phineas
Taylor Barnum in 1915. He used this expression, because advertisements began to
shape our world from that time. But today it is over. From now on, advertisements
started to give hidden evil messages rather than to shape. So we can easily say
that any publicity is not good publicity. Although there are good aspects of
advertisement such as controlling product prices, saving good deal of time,
guaranteeing quick sales, giving educational, social and safety messages, there
is also abuse of an advertisement like deceiving people into buying things that
they don’t really need, making people think they need things that they
shouldn’t even want, lying, and misleading. But there are also 4 basic issues
of insidious types of the advertisements such as offensive, racist, subliminal
and illuminati.

a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane
world.” and “A loyal friend laughs at your jokes when they're not so good, and

SAMPLE ESSAY "THE MOST VALUABLE THING -LIFE-"
Capital punishment has a miserable
past. The death penalty was very common and most widely used method in every
situation in every place; therefore, The Human Rights was published throughout
the world. Even in this day and time some Islamic countries continue to carry
out the supreme punishment and in these countries, guilty people are penalized
violently. I think capital punishment shouldn't be executed in any part of the
world because of three reasons.
Firstly, God has created us and has the right to
claim a life, but we don’t have such a right. So, nobody should be sentenced
with death, as we can’t destroy the thing which we didn't create.
SAMPLE ESSAY "FROM COUNTRYSIDE TO CITY"
In the old days, people tended to
stay in the place they were born because of some difficulties, but now we move
easily from countryside to city, from one part of a country to another, and even
from country to country. Each place has its own traditions and ways of life.
When I moved from Bournemouth to Londra, I had to make several adjustments to my
life. Londra is a different city from my hometown in many respects. Of course,
there might be some similarities to my hometown, like entertainment, restaurant
and so on. But, from my point of view, the difference is far outweigh the
similarities; environment, weather and pollution.
First and foremost, environment is
through and through different at many points. Taking stall in all, people have
their own condition to adjust to their environment, so it leads to their
satisfaction.
SAMPLE ESSAY "BATCH CLEANING"
Last week we had a free time because of our teacher’s illness and we decided to do something good for the school. So, we started to clean-up our school's outdoor campus. We were disgusted with the amount of pollution we found scattered around our school. Then, we thought that we must do something to make our efforts noticeable to the rest of the student. We arranged to pick up trash during lunch and after school. At both times the outdoor campus is used and we put the trash on display so the whole school could see the garbage collage they created. This was only a small-scale study we did to clean our environment. But, we must struggle to preserve and clean up the environment throughout the world. I think there are three major steps we can do to clean up the environment.
SAMPLE ESSAY "A STRANGE EXPERIENCE"
According to Swiss
researchers, approximately 1 million people died in the last twenty years. But,
more than 780 thousands of them died in the earthquake. In Turkey, the
situation is not much different and the number of deaths is over 57 thousands.
Despite the fact that authorities' efforts and governments’ investments, none
of those deaths couldn’t be prevented. I think that something must be done by
the victims of the earthquake. So, we can describe this as a process that we
should do before, during, and after an earthquake.
Most of what we must
do belongs to pre-earthquake period. Firstly, we must learn first aid. It is
very significant because we may have to practice it during the earthquake.
Learning how to turn off the gas, water, and electricity is also important one.
Then, we should place our household goods according to the instructions of the
earthquake such as anchoring heavy furniture, cupboards, and appliances to the
walls or floor, not leaving heavy objects on shelves because of danger of
falling.
PUBLIC SPEAKING TIPS
Learning the Language
If body language doesn’t match words, it makes us feel
uncomfortable even if we can’t identify why. Dr Desmond Morris, the
world-famous animal and people watcher, calls these incongruities ‘non-verbal
leakage’, the failure of our social ‘mask’, and being able to spot them can
help us to make much more sense of our interactions.
Watching other people’s body language can also help your own
self-image. ‘The main problem when people are insecure or lack self-esteem is
that they imagine everyone else is secure,’ he says. ‘If you spot the tricks
someone is using to intimidate you, they seem less threatening.’
So body language tactics are not to hide these signs of
tension, but to gain mastery and confidence over the environment, to spot when
others are being threatening or belittling, and take counter-measures.
10 TIPS FOR PUBLIC SPEAKING
Feeling
some nervousness before giving a speech is natural and even beneficial, but too
much nervousness can be detrimental. Here are some proven tips on how to
control your butterflies and give better presentations:
1. Know your material. Pick a topic you are interested in.
Know more about it than you include in your speech. Use humor, personal stories
and conversational language – that way you won’t easily forget what to say.
2. Practice. Practice. Practice! Rehearse out loud with all
equipment you plan on using. Revise as necessary. Work to control filler words;
Practice, pause and breathe. Practice with a timer and allow time for the
unexpected.

GOLDEN RULES OF COMMUNICATION
The five golden rules of communication give us a clue what we should do for
effective communication.
The first one “You create your own experience” makes us understand why we must
be accountable for our life. If we are accountable for our life, good or bad;
successful or unsuccessful; happy or sad; fair or unfair, we can solve our
problems easily, because we will know where the problem stems from. And, if we
want to be successful about something, we must encourage ourselves to achieve
it. So, this rule teaches us accountability has important role in our life.
The second rule “You get what
you give” reminds us the link of action and reaction. There are numerous
styles, ways and levels we deal with others, and we may choose different ones
in various situations.
PERSONAL VALUATION
We use limitless manners, styles and levels to deal with other people and generally we choose one of them in diverse situations. When dealing with people, these styles will determine how they respond to us.
There
are some kinds of these styles that we can find ourselves in: The Porcupine,
they walk into every situation expecting to be offended; King or Queen of the
Forest: they are legends in their own minds; The Poser: their goal is looking
better than the others; People-Eater: they want to control everyone and
everything; Drama Queen: every event in their life is extraordinary; Scarlet
O’Hara: they choose not to deal with difficulties when faced with them;
